ABOUT DR. MICHAELIDES
Dr. Michaelides is board certified, internationally recognized plastic surgeon dedicated to providing quality, state of the art plastic surgery to patients in the Island of Cyprus as well as to patients from around the world. He has been in practice since 1994. Dr. Michaelides is noted for his warm, personal demeanor and a passion for the details of cosmetic surgery that lead to extraordinary results. He believes in establishing a personal relationship and understanding the concerns and desires of his patients is a key part of a successful consultation. Upon completion of his medical degree he started specialization in Plastic Surgery at the General State Hospital of Athens in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery and the Burns Unit. He has also specialized further in the field of Child Surgery, ICU Unit and the Burn Unit. Dr. Michaelides has participated in many seminars and was part of the Microsurgery and Hand Surgery Team of the General State Hospital of Athens. He participated as a co-author of a compact disc interactive program about Burns sponsored by the European Community. This program is now part of the Education Curriculum of the Medical and Nurses School of the EC. Furthermore, he went on to the United States where he trained and specialized in Aesthetic Surgery, Microsurgery, Endoscopic Plastic Surgery and Laser Surgery in San Francisco, California. Dr. Michaelides has authored several papers on plastic surgery topics and has presented at major national meetings of plastic surgeons. He is staff at the Hippocrateon Private Hospital in Nicosia, and also utilizes other island hospitals - the Peters' and Paul's Polyclinic in Limassol and Lito- Private Hospital in Paralimni.
Dr. Michaelides has a PHD Degree in Plastic surgery. He is a lecturer of Plastic Surgery at the Intercollege Nicosia since the year 2000.
Dr. Michaelides is also a member of the International Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a member of the European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a member of the European Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgery, International Society of Microsurgery, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, candidate of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and a founding member of the Cyprus Society of Plastic Surgery and an Honorary member of the Greek Society of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Michaelides keeps up to date with the latest surgical techniques by attending meetings, reading journals and visiting colleagues around the world. Every year he spends a month visiting colleagues in San Francisco to exchange views and methods in plastic surgery. Dr. Michaelides is personally involved in every step of the process, from the initial consultation through to the final post-operative visit. He and his staff provide each patient with individual guidance and support in a safe and friendly environment.
