Mankind's essential nature entails self-improvement. Without the individual's pursuit of learning and enlightenment, peace with his or her neighbors and more efficient means to work, progress would stop. Because human beings have always sought self-fulfillment through self-improvement, plastic surgery improving and restoring form and function may be one of the world's oldest healing arts. In fact, written evidence cites medical treatment for facial injuries more than 4,000 years ago. Physicians in ancient India were utilizing skin grafts from the forehead for the reconstruction of women's noses, mutilated by their jealous husbands as early as 800 B.C..In Renaissance Italy, surgeon Gaspar Tagliacozzi wrote the first textbook of Plastic Surgery inwhich he described a procedure whereby a skin flap, taken from the arm of an individual, was used to reconstruct a missing nose. However, progress in plastic surgery, like most of medicine, moved glacially for hundreds of years. It wasn't until the 19th and 20th centuries that the specialty forged ahead both scientifically and within the medical establishment in both Europe and theUnited States.

Cosmetic Surgery has been developed to respond to a person's need to change some aspect of their appearance, frequently one which has bothered them over the course of their lives. Procedures such as Surgery of The Nose, and Surgery of The Ear , Breast Reduction and Breast Augmentation, Liposuction are only a few of the growing list of commonly requested changes to the body and face. In addition to changing birth appearance, the effects of aging and how it affects the different tissues making up the body are just now being fully understood. While heredity is the single most important indicator of how we will age, diet, cigarette consumption, exercise, general health, sun exposure and attitude are also considered to be important factors. Today's Cosmetic Surgery is about ordinary people who have concerns about how they look. Whether it's a nose that is too big, breasts that are too small, or wrinkled sagging skin that makes someone who feels young and alive, look old and depressed. It could something that you were born with, or a change in your appearance that has come with age an accident or a disease. Whatever the cause, it's a problem.Having children can be hard on the female form causing drooping breasts and a loosening of the muscles and the tissue around the stomach. Exercise and diet does not change the exterior appearance as quickly as it benefits the inner health Aging is not an overnight phenomenon. It is a cumulative effect of forces that began working many years before. As the years go by, the skin, helped by the sun, loses its youthful elasticity and gravity pulls the skin downward. As a result, bags, wrinkles, and jowls double chins droopy brows appear on the face and neck. Unfortumately there is no lotion, cream or medicine in the world that can shrink skin back to its youthful contours. Only Plastic Surgery can make the skin fit the frame once again.
